Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of Lumo, a dream journal application developed by Tom Delangle (auto-entrepreneur, France). By using Lumo, you agree to these terms.

1. The service

Lumo is a personal dream journal app that helps you record, analyze, and explore your dreams. Lumo uses artificial intelligence to suggest dream symbols and to have conversations about your dreams.

2. Account

Lumo uses anonymous authentication. You do not need to create an account with an email or password. Your identity is tied to your device. If you uninstall the app or change devices, your data cannot be recovered.

3. Free and Premium plans

• Free plan: Full access to dream journaling, dream types, basic insights (2 cards), and up to 3 AI messages per day.
• Premium plan: Unlimited AI messages, voice dictation, all insight cards, weekly AI reports. Subscription managed through Apple's In-App Purchase system.

Subscriptions

• Premium is available as a monthly ($8.99/month) or yearly ($39.99/year) subscription.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID settings.

4. AI features

Lumo's AI features (dream analysis, chat) are powered by Anthropic's Claude API. Important notes:

• AI responses are suggestions, not professional advice. Lumo is not a therapist, doctor, or counselor.
• Dream interpretations are exploratory. They are not definitive or scientific diagnoses.
• If you are experiencing mental health difficulties, please consult a qualified professional.
• AI features require an internet connection.

5. Your content

You own all content you create in Lumo (dream entries, conversations, notes). Your journal is stored locally on your device. We do not claim any rights over your content.

By using AI features, you grant Lumo permission to send your content to our servers and third-party AI providers strictly for the purpose of generating responses. This content is processed in real time and is not stored on our servers.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use Lumo for any illegal purpose
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or hack the app
• Abuse AI features (e.g., automated requests, spam)
• Use Lumo to generate harmful, abusive, or illegal content

7. Availability

We strive to keep Lumo available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. AI features depend on third-party services (Anthropic, Supabase) that may experience downtime. Local features (journaling, reading your dreams) work offline.

8. Limitation of liability

Lumo is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• We are not liable for any data loss resulting from device failure, uninstallation, or software bugs.
• We are not liable for any decisions made based on AI-generated content.
• Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for Lumo Premium in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app or on our website. Continued use of Lumo after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of France. Any disputes shall be submitted to the competent courts in France, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rules in your country of residence.
